Overview

This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of the principles and practices required to ensure and maintain the quality of assessment externally, usually on behalf of an Awarding Organisation.


The purpose of this qualification is to allow individuals to work in an external quality assurance role. The units specified within this document cover a variety of areas relevant to the sector, including, an understanding of the principles and practices of external quality assurance of assessment, and the practice of externally assuring the quality of assessment.


Entry Requirements
  • Minimum Age: 18

  • Learners should have or be working towards a minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

  • Learners must be qualified and have experience working as an Internal Quality Assurer.

  • Learners must have access to an Awarding Organisation whose External Quality Assurance practices, processes, strategies and systems they can support and review.

  • Learners must have access to, be working with, or have permission to work with an Awarding Organisation to meet the requirements within Unit 2: Externally assure the quality of assessment.
